Spatio-Temporal Heterogeneity of Climate Warming in the Chinese Tianshan Mountainous Region

The Chinese Tianshan mountainous region (CTMR) is a typical alpine with high topographic heterogeneity, characterized by large altitude span, complex topography, and diverse landscapes. A significant increase in air temperature had occurred the CTMR during last five decades. However, detailed, comprehensive, systematical characteristics of climate warming, such as its temporal spatial remain unclear. In this study, heterogeneity warming across been comprehensively analyzed based on 10-day data gathered 1961–2020 from 26 meteorological stations. results revealed local cooling context general CTMR. amplitude variation (AV) varied −0.57 to 3.64 °C, average value 1.19 °C six lapse rates elevation-dependent that existed annually, spring, summer, autumn are −0.5 °C/100 m, −0.7 −0.4 respectively. characteristic represented amplified at 10-d scale for more than half year, values AV were higher 1.09 global 2011–2020 (GWV2011–2020). Meanwhile, amplitudes differed greatly seasonal scale, autumn, winter summer. also pole warm part, Turpan-Hami basin (below 1000 m asl) where itself was high. That is, places warmer found Kuqa (about asl). This study could improve understanding spatio-temporal dynamics, patterns, regional even northwest China.
